This week Dave takes a look at the Repairable A2 atomiser from Bulli-Smoker, has another go with those darn (fake) CE3s and there’s “extreme vaping” from the top of the Munich Olympic Tower!
You seemed to used too much wick. If you watched Cetins video carefully, he uses 2 turns only. You seemed to used 2 and a half. You should only have 4 wicks going through the coil not 5. Bulli send them out prefitted with 3 wicks.
The bits of card with the wire are marked in Biro with the width. .15 is the standard.
4 windings on 4 GF gives 2 ohms and works best on the Ego.
Again is you watch the video carefully, you will see Cetin doesn’t cut the wire until he has finished winding. He unrolls the wire and grips the piece of card in the palm of his hand. This helps to put tension on the wire when you are winding.
You appear to have the coil set to the wrong side. It should be on the side away from the air hole.
There is another video on the page about the tank version which shows him making a coil for the A2. The non tank version is the same except you don’t cut the ends of the wick off.
There are various coil layouts and wick looping arrangements. I have posted a picture of these on UK.
Dripping on those carts don’t fill them completely (you can see on your video with the red liquid). Best thing is to take the filling out, half fill the cart then put the filler back. Finish by dripping. Or use a sharp needle.
Just another thing about the Bulli. Cetin discusses this on his sub-forum at the German site. It is not just about the number of coils. You have to balance the liquid flow with the heat produced. Lower resistance need more liquid hence more wick and vice versa. However if the wick is too thick the liquid in the middle is not heated up enough.
Also Cetin likes a high resistance atomiser. He shows 5 turns in the video (and says he uses 7 turns on the forum) which is on the high side especially for the Ego. 4 turns is better.
When you get good at making and fitting coils, have a go at a dual coil. I’m using one which has 2 7 turn coils, about 1.5 ohms. It actually works really well and has been going for over a week now.
RE Bulli: For best results, each wind of the wire needs to be really close to the next. I have a gap between each wind roughly equal to the thickness of the wire. My first coil looked well spaced out like yours and didn’t produce enough vapour or throat-hit for me, but how I wind it now makes a typical LR atty vape like a wimp.
Those long draws you’re taking would tear your throat out on mine!
